Very pleasant, even though we could not check in to our room - as it was too early. The waiting area is clean and pleasant and the desk attendant was very friendly and polite. He patiently listened to our mangled French and then spoke English quite clearly.

Very pleasant - they allowed us to keep our luggage in a back room until it was time for us to catch a cab to the airport.

The staff is very pleasant and willing to help. They called our cab for us and made sure that we knew where we were going at all times - they provided maps. We were very pleased with the service.

It was pleasant and exactly what one should expect for the money you are paying. While it is not a 4 star hotel, it has lovely views from the balcony and the room is sunny and comfortable. The tub is a tub with a shower attachment, which called for some creativity when we wanted a shower, but that was the only actual drawback. The beds were fine and just what we wanted. I'd say that the Hotel Voltaire Republique is a good bargain.

I'd suggest including directions from Oberkampf station as well as from Republique, as it's closer.

The quad room we got was quite dingy in that the bathroom had mould, room smelt of stale cigarette smoke.
Staff were very friendly and polite, and also quite helpful.
Location is great.

There is a tiny lift with a capacity for 3 people (if squeezing). Otherwise, you may have to walk 6 flights of stairs like we had to do.

It was very central, and there were plenty of halaal food places within walking distance. The rooms were bearable, but a bit dingy. There was a nice view of Sacre Coeur from the balcony.

One of the worst places to stay - the noise in the neighbouring rooms sound as if they are from the room you stay in!!!! I would never recommend this for the amount they charge - that too without breakfast!!!!

I don't think the breakfast at 6 euros per day is worthwhile. That is my only criticism -- that they should lower their breakfast rates.

We were at first surprised at how small the room and bathroom were but we quickly came to realise that size did not matter much - we were very comnfortable and enjoyed our stay very much

Clean, basic accomadation at a good price. Cute elevator and nice bathroom. Apartmentw/kitchenette for 5 was perfect. Within walking distance of good food and shopping. Public parking garage around the corner.

We arived quite late, and the night porter was on duty. In spite of some language difficulites teh check in was quick and satisfactory.

The pictures of the rooms were not ut to date, the rooms showed signs of use. Te TV set had apparently been ripped down from its mounting on the wall and was replaced with a set with a malfunctioning areal. One of the walls of the showes cabinet was also tore down som I had to make so make-shift arrangments. These are all in all minor nuicances. The main thing was that we felt safe, the roooms were clean, there were no noice during night-time and the staff were polite and service-mindet. The manager shifted a ligt-bulb in the bathroom on the night of our arrival.

Its a small, two star hotel with a friendly staff in a fairly quiet neighbourhood. You pay for what you get. Skip the breakfast, you will get a better meal other places. Close to the Metrosystem and therefore close to all the attractions in Paris.

You could include that from 1st floor rooms you can clearly appreciate underground noises and that property in general is absolutely not spacious.

Very small, a little bit unconfortable but well situated and idoneous for young people who want to spend all day outside in Paris and coming back to sleep without time restrictions.

Is a very nice Hotel. Very well located. Nearby you can find nice places to eat and go out at nights. We found kind people that helped us during our stay. Is not full of luxury but in our trip we only needed a nice place to sleep, and we found it.

The facilities are quite old and speciallt the carpet need urgent change and renewal. Thought the room was clean the carpet gave a bad impression and appear not to be clean.

It said a king bed but it was a double...there was no problem with this.

The hotel is in an area in transition...to the better...the hotel lobby could use some updating and it would greatly benefit the whole feel of the place. The receptionists were nice but if you're looking for information about the city, etc. it really isn't available...except for a few brochures. They gave us a number to call for a shuttle. The only problem with the room was the hot water in the shower...it was intermittant....

Located in a good area for getting around...a not so great neighborhood turning around. A clean room/ problem with hot water...but very affordable compared to everything else we found. Wouldn't stay there for an extended stay, but for a few nights when we weren't going to be hanging out at the hotel, it was fine.

The water did not flow properly into the wash basin.I spoke to the hotel reception & the problem was fixed by the evening
Our room was OK but my sons room was poor as the paint was flaking from one wall near the floor.Also his bedspread was not in a good state in Room 35.It would be good to have one pillow each.The long pillow across the bed is not comfortable & not easy to sleep on.

The hotel was easy to locate. It was comfortable. The bathroom,shower& toilet were clean & the shower worked well.

The staff was most helpful. They let us use their computer and also made train reservations for us. The accomodations were very cramped, but we expected that for the price. The hotel is located between the two railway stations that we used, which was a plus. Also the nearness to Place Republique made it convenient to get to the Metro and the open air tour bus.

Due to the bad exchange rate with the US dollar, we had to settle for a less expensive hotel than we would have liked. This hotel with its tiny elevator was ok for our purpose.

The man at the reception spoke for several minutes on his private mobile phone before serving us, though he noticed us. Quite rude, considerng that it was late and that we were wet from the rain ouside.

We where offered a room with mini-bar but we didn`t get any !! They said that all rooms don´t have mini-bar.And there where not any room empty when we arrived with mini-bar !!

During the third day I went out of the hotel almost all day, and when my couple and I arrive to the room we found other clothes, suddenly the phone rings and a gentlemen told mr that they change our belongs to another room, I was upset therefore I try to complain but the owner of the Hotel start shoutin me, it a real bad experience, actually the owner told that he did not care what I think when they change my stuff to another room with lower caracteristics. REAL BAD EXPERIENCE

In general, the hotel services and conditions are fine and the priceing is acceptable.
However,the condition in the washroom needs to be improved, for example, the fan-system (for air exchange)is not strong enough and therefore there was highly humidity in the washroom, and thus stained spots (probably from microorganism comtamination) were found around the tub. We felt uncomfortable.

The TV is too small and was on a high position, such that it was not easy to watch. By the way, the lift was too small to get in with a big luggage.

The room was unbearably hot, with no ventilation except for one small window opening into the alley. This wasn't enough to generate even a slight breeze, so sleeping was difficult. This was compounded by the fact that the rooms face into the same alley, so when you open your window, you can hear all the other guests in their rooms as if they were with you in yours. It was very loud.
