Greatlocation-beautiful area-centrally located and easy to get around the city from there. Hotel charming and clean-staff was wonderful-helpful and friendly- Spoke enough English to answer any question I had. Thoroughly enjoyable at a very resonable rate. ... Check out at Noon- I got lost wandering and didn't get back til 2PM- no problem. Wasn't leaaving until 6PM- They held my luggage for me in lobby. ... As I stated above!

After our first stay at the hotel, my wife and I went to the south of France for a few days. We returned to Paris and stayed another night at Hotel de l'Universite. Even though we arrived rather early in the day, the receptionist quickly found us a vacant room. ... I would highly recommend Hotel de l'Univerite to other visitors to Paris. The staff, especially the receptionists/concierges, were all very helpful and polite. The room was very pleasant and larger than I expected. And for Paris, the price was very reasonable. ... The receptionist seemed to think of everything in advance. For example, the night before we left Paris, the receptionist took care to ask us what time we would like a cab the following day. He initiated the conversation because he wanted to make sure that a cab would be available for us when we needed it. ... You might want to update your directions to the hotel to reflect the fact that the RER station at St. Michel is temporarily closed. I don't know how long it will be closed. ... See my comments above.

We arrived about 1240 & were disappointed that room 54 was not available because it had not been serviced. This was bad news after our long air trip. ... We enjoyed our stay very much, & hope we can visit you again. ... See comments in 10 above

This was my second stay at the Hotel de l'Universite and I would stay there again gladly. ... The American author Truman Capote stayed here in the late 1950s during a visit to Paris. ... A lovely, charming, clean and comfortable, hotel that typifies Paris of former days. Its location is a plus and its staff is friendly and most helpful.

did not like bath arrangement. a shower curtain and holder for the shower head would have helped. most european hotels in which we have stayed have made provision for a shower.
I loved the wifi which I was able to receive in my first floor room.
the rooms on the street were very noisy. they should be less expensive. ... thought the breakfast was included in the room rate and that was very expensive at 11 euros. ... a modestly priced hotel, very conveniently located. comfortable and clean.

We left early because we found the bed to be uncomtortable - it slanted downwards so that my husband almost slid out of bed. Also, there was no hot water in the morning. We also felt the place was desparately in need of paint and freshening. The room itself was large and quiet, but dreary. Sorry to be so blunt. ... We were given the breakfast gratis on the day we checked out which we appreciated. ... Even though we had booked for 5 nights, we moved after two nights to a hotel that was 25 Euros cheaper with air conditioning and had recently been remodeled. It was attractive, modern, welcoming and much better value than the L'Universite. ... I don't believe I could recommend it to a friend, especially for 175 Euros per night.

The location is excellent and well placed to give easy access to many of the places to visit when staying in Paris. ... A good quality hotel which is French in style - rather than international. The decor and style is charming and you have the feeling of staying in a place which is typically French.

GOOD LOCATION rOOM WAS ok but last time we stayed there the room was a little more interestig and charming. This time the room seemed a little blah as far as decore.
