I loved the hotel and the location. Wish that there had been a concierge service, though. One of the front desk staff seemed not to know as much about Paris as I would have liked. Not a big problem, though. ... A charming little hotel. Great access to the Metro and within walking distance of many good restaurants. My second stay with them and I will go again.

We arrived by Metro, but were unable to find ataxi, so eventually walked to the hotel - not a great distnce, but we had not expected to do that. Arrival at the hotel was fine. ... The hotel was ideally situated for our sight-seeing weekend's stay.
We had expected three beds, not a double and a pull out sofa-bed. However, this did not cause us any problems. ... We checked out after breakfast on Monday morning and the receptionist was very helpful. ... No ... Very pleasant hotel, quite close to the Metro and Notre-Dame, and just next to the Sorbonne. Pleasnat room and great buffet breakdfast.

I don't remember a thing about the directions (we took a cab) but I was not allowed to leave anything blank. ... As to the images on the website etc we really stayed here because some friends had recommended it. ... #12 can't remember what was stated. No real basis for comparison as to value. Everything in Paris seemed expensive but we had a wonderful time and look forward to returning. And we might return to this hotel. ... You might point out that there is a good health club within about a 5-10 minute walk. Also not cheap but has good equipment including five rowing machines (which is unusual & appreciated by me since I am a competitive rower). The concierge helped me but it was another guy, maybe another worker at the hotel, who knew of a club closer than the one the concierge knew about.
We thought the breakfasts were first rate & lots of EGGS, American style. ... Great location & breakfast, very friendly staff, good rooms, why don't the French use shower curtains.

Bad map with no relevant names of streets. ... One day there were no towels, and after having some bath-carpets we got real towels. ... As we had forgotten the vouchers (we were 5 people in three rooms), which stated bed and breadfast, we had to pay extra for the breakfasts. It is also not good that one single person has to pay the same price as for a doubble room. So we do not recommend this hotel to anybody. The personell were however quite OK. ... Well located with walking distances to museums, Notre Dame and restaurants. The hotel was unable to accept the agreed bed and breakfast-price as stated on the voucher which was e-mailed to me. So,my friend, be extra careful bringing the copy of the e-mail, if you will stay at this hotel.

I loved this hotel. It felt like a boutique hotel with attention to details. It was clean, beautifully furnished with very kind staff. It was the best location I could have wished for. ... Pictures of rooms were perfect and exactly as they appeared. But the location was even better than I knew.Pictures didn't explain the smells every morning that came up to my window from the little bakery baking fresh breads & brewing fresh coffee. Or, the wonderful music each night at 9pm from a group rehearing at the nearby college. Or, the wonderful soaking tub, I lingered in each night as I soothed my tired walking feet. All the sights I wanted were walking distance. Some longer than others...but always an adventure just around the next bend. ... Marie at the front desk, was most helpful.
... Marie at the front desk spoke fluent English, Spanish as well as her native French. Her warmth to all the guests as well as the staff, made the atmosphere of warmth for the hotel. She is such an asset to this hotel. Marie and the location of St-Michel make this hotel stand out among the other hotels.***Please email me so I can explain an idea I have with you. ... I did and my friend who is traveling to Paris the end of this month is staying there, based on my wonderful experieces.

This is a fantastic place. I was very happy with everything. My room was bright and cheerful. The people are great. It was wonderful. I was by myself and everyone was soooooo helpful. There are lots of places to eat in the area and good Metro service. I'd stay here again. Thanks. ... Checking out was a breeze. Everyone at the Grand Hotel St. Michel is organized and prompt. I never had a problem. ... I'd say the location is great. The rooms are very nice and this hotel gave me a double room at the single rate. The TV has CNN a plus for me. The hotel is quiet and has lots of fine places to eat around in the neighborhood and an internet cafe down the street.

The room was bigger than I expected. Very clean bathroom. ... I had to catch a train at 11pm the night of departure. They let me use the room til then for a fee instead of charging me an extra day. Very good. ... I dont recall. But, its a great location, right behing La Sorbonne, and just a short walk down boulevard St. Michel to the Cluny-La Sorbonne Metro stop. About 2 blocks. Then a couple more and youre already in front of Notre Dame. ... Definitely.

I had booked two rooms, but the reservation on file at the hotel did not clearly show the 2nd room. I had to show my copies of the online vouchers. The receptionist was able to assign a 2nd room to us, but this was somewhat lucky. ... Receptionist was very obliging about letting us leave our luggage in storage room while waiting for airport van pickup. ... Oasis in the middle of bustling university life (the historic Sorbonne). Steps away from student eateries and academic-level bookstores. A few easy blocks to excellent restaurants and shops. Walking distance to Notre Dame, St Germain-des-Pres, Jardin Luxembourg.

When we arrived, there was no room at the hotel for the 1st night. They made arrangements for us to stay at a hotel across the road. It was an inferior establishment and after travelling for so many hours, we were disappointed. ... Our room was lovely. I reserved two rooms, although one of the rooms was wonderful, the other room was dark and facing an alley. Couldn't tell if it was day or night. ... We stayed for two nights and one of the rooms was not cleaned and made up when we returned. We went to the desk and told them; however, they said there was nothing the could do because the cleaning staff was gone for the day. We left the room before 9 A.M. and didn't return until 6 P.M. They had plenty of time to clean the room. ... The hotel is in a very convenient location. The staff at the front desk could be a little more cordial and accommodating. However, the lobby person, Roberto, was wonderful, warm, kind and very helpful.

The pillows need to be replaced but otherwise we had a very nice stay at the hotel. ... This hotel is right next door to the Sorbonne. It is a very young neighborhood. We asked for one large bed and what we received was two twin beds pushed together. In some hotels, the two would be 'made up' with linens as if they were one bed, but in these case, the two beds had separate sheets, etc. Not very romantic. Somewhat disappointing. ... This was our second time staying at this property. Much more expensive now after the euro conversion and the weakening of the dollar, but still a very nice place.

When we arrived, we handed our confirmation form to reception, he took it, looked at it, handed us a key and pointed us to the elevator. Pretty much didn't say a word.
The staff was very friendly and helpful for the remainder of our stay,
It would have been nice to have walking directions from the Metro. ... The room we received seemed more two star than three star based on the quality of the furnishings. It was quite musty. The mustiness decreased after a few days with the air conditioning on. But then it got a bit humid in the room. The airconditioning did keep the room cool considering the heat outside. And we were thankful for the wireless internet.
The room was clean, quiet, and private. ... It's a little further form the Latin Quarter action than some might expect looking at the map, but it is very close to the RER B stop that goes straight to CDG airport. ... A pleasant 2.5 star hotel a bit of a walk from the heart of the latin quarter but conveniently located to the metro. Rooms are nice although a little musty.
