We felt very welcomed upon our arrival. Our greeter was charming and helpful.
...
The hotel and staff were very warm, friendly and charming. The rooms were very spacious, clean and quaint. We enjoyed having the kitchenette and the decor was lovely. The location could not have been better - lovely pedestrian streets with cafes and shops to explore and it was easy walking distance to most sights. I will be staying there on my next trip!
...
More detail about the bathroom - very large, list the amenities (clothesline, hairdryer, etc.), note that the apartment has a bathroom with a separate bath and shower.
...
easy to use, good descriptions, great selections
...
Small, charming hotel on the Left Bank in the middle of wonderful pedestrian streets with lots of shops, cafes and activity. We could easily walk to the Seine, Notre Dame, the museums and other sights. Right by the Metro & RER. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and responded quickly to my questions prior to our stay. The rooms were very large and lovely and the kitchenette was great for keeping snacks and drinks. The bathrooms were large and spotless and had all the amenities you could wish for. The king bed was truly a king, the double was large and the sofa bed was comfortable as well. It was wonderful to be able to open the large windows and hear the sounds of Paris at night. I would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family and will definitely stay there next time I visit Paris.

Location, location, location! A very nice flat in the very heart of Paris. Any dining experience we wanted was at our doorstep, as well as were grocery stores, bakeries, etc. The Seine was 100 steps from the front door - from there, a quick 5 minutes to the Louvre or to Notre Dame.
...
A little noisier than we would have hoped (people noise not traffic noise). But that's what you should expect from such close proximity to so many restaurants, cafes and pubs.

Pascal was very welcoming
...
The kitchen utensils were old and incomplete, ie no kettle, not enough glasses, cups or cutlery. There is no information in the room about local facilities such as supermarket, laundrette, banks, doctor etc etc.
...
Very central location, comfortable (ie air conditioning and ensuite). World's smallest lift!

Very efficient and welcoming.
...
The apartment could have had a better inventory of cutlery/crockery - very little cost for a great deal of extra benefit. Also an iron would be useful, something which you get in almost all US and Australian apartments.
...
Outstanding location for families with most major sites just a walk away and less than 50m to the Metro. There are plenty of internet cafes close by and you are in the heart of a restaurant district. The hidden jewel is the restaurant across the street (owned by the same person as Residence Des Artes) called Au Jardin which is extremely friendly and provides simple, exceptionally well executed classic French cuisine. It is a proper restaurant amongst the mass of tourist places of moderate quality in the area.
...
Very good value for money, but don't expect a 5-star experience. The rooms are spacious and well fitted out, and the bathroom very decent and modern. However, the fittings are somewhat worn and the level of equipment could be improved.

I'd still recommend they stay there unless they were large around the waist, in which case they genuinely wouldn't fit into the absolutely tiny elevators.

We visited Paris and was faced with a train strike. Francoise helped us call Disney Paris to make specific enquiries on how we might possibly be able to get transport there and even arranged a cab to send us there. We didn't speak French so it was very helpful that she did all the fact finding for us.
...
It is very central, with great access to all the tourist landmarks. My French friend who lives in Paris remarked that I couldn't have picked a better locality to stay in for visiting Paris. The staff at the hotel, Francoise, Catherine and the gentlemen who takes over at night - all of them were just great. Polite, prompt with lots of initiative and ever so willing to help.
I would absolutely recommend this hotel to any friend who is going to Paris.

we had a little difficulty realizing that the property is in two parts opposite each other. front door is kept locked which was confusing to start but on knocking we were welcomed. there was a large disparity in the two rooms we were given, despite being booked as the same. we were upgraded from the poorer room at additional cost and the suite we had was delightful but considerably dearer. would recommend taking rooms higher in building as they were nicer and quieter. location is wonderful- 2 mins to the RER train to airport (st michel stn).
there is an irish pub next door and lower rooms can be noisy at weekend. all in all a happy choice. we would go back again if we could be sure of good rooms.
...
the property was as described except that it was in two locations on opposite sides of the street. see above for room discrepancies. breakfast is served in rooms--- i.e. no designated breakfast room or bar.
not a problem to us but a little unusual so perhaps worth mentioning.
...
staff were happy to mind our luggage after checkout.
...
suggest that you mention close proximity to RER -- cheap, fast easy connection to CDG airport.
...
quaint, charming, comfortable. upper rooms quite large for paris standards. nice view over street scene below and paris rooftops. pretty decor. lovely old building. not palatial but very sweet.

We actually extended our stay at Residence Des Arts from May 19th through May 22md and returned again May 27th through May 29th. Not only were the facilities excellent, but our conceirge and manager, Pascal Shubert, was responsible for making our trip to France our most memorable vacation ever. He is superb in his position and as a person beyond words.
...
Residence Des Arts could not be in a more perfect location for soaking in the ambience of the Paris Left Bank. It is private and yet the life of Paris and its people swirl all around you. We absolutely loved it beyond description!

Great, the lobby is across the street at their sister hotel, which was a bit confusing, but Annie was watching and came out to get us. She was great and really made us feel comfortable. Also very helpful with suggestions, guidance and directions.
...
Outstanding property. We were very pleased with the experience overall. The only thing I would recommend would be a few more utensils and cooking things. The appliances were fine, but things like a collander, saute pan, dish soap, etc. would be helpful. Overall, it was outstanding. A separate shower from the tub was a real treat.

I used Tripadvisor.com so knew about the disadvantages - ie very small lift which did not go up to sixth floor and very noisy bar opposite hotel particularly on Saturday night. However, thse could be major problems for some users and should be mentioned.
...
brilliant location, very atmospheric and close to restaurants and sights. very comfortable accomodation, very good value for money bearing in mind the spaciousness and facilities in the apartment. The kitchen is very basic so don't expect a fully equipped kitchen suitable for real cooking or washing clothes, but for breakfast and drinks, it's fine.

The kitchette was not fully equipped. There was one small saucepan, a broken coffee maker and no kettle. Also, there were no dish cloths or tea towels so that we could clean up easily.

The lift was out of order part of the time and they were doing remodel of lobby. Loud and dusty.

The Accommodations were as stated, but not represented on the website or brochure. The website does not show the smallest room they have available, it does not give a good representation to this particular room. All of the rooms on the website and brochure are much larger and appear more luxurious than the one I was assigned. Had I know this room was this small, (although comfortable), I would have booked a different room or a different property. Also, the room was not set up for 2 single beds as requested.
...
Check out was easy and efficient.
...
A good representation of each room, not just the larger rooms, would be appreciated. I was disappointed that the room I received was not represented on the website. It was much smaller and not as well appointed as the rooms shown on the website. I am familiar with European rooms, but the descriptions and photos on the website, led me to believe all the rooms were well appointed and larger than the average.
...
A decent location close to many attractions, good restaurants and shopping, but the smallest room on the property is not the best value.

We found the accommodation met our expectations and was very centrally located and surprisingly quiet. However, access, on a pedestrian only street, was difficult, because we arrived by car. It was complicated by the fact that it is the hotel across the street which manages access to La Residence. Had we been warned of this, it would not have been a problem, but figuring this out for ourselves during rush hour was very unpleasant. We should have been warned.
...
Yes, as above re access.

I would describe it as a very good place to stay, particularly if arriving by cab, with a driver who knew exactly where the hotel is located.

there was no hotel reception for Residence des arts. It is also run by another hotel across the road and it was a person from this hotel who came into the street and asked us to come into this other hotels reception area. We found this most strange.

The taxi dropped us in front of the hotel address and it was a little confusing as the hotel is across the street from the reception check in location, however, the attendant (Anne) immediately came outside and directed us to her position. She was absolutely incredible in her assistance and attitude and pleasant in demeanor.
...
The only downside to the stay was the air conditioning in the room. It only started to function on the last day that we were in the room. Additionally, the towel, toilet paper and toiletries were only minimally provided. Soap was not replaced with new product daily and only two towels for bath and two for hand were supplied each day.

The quality of the rooms was very good in terms of being clean and recently refurbished. Spacious I know not to expect in Paris anyway so cannot complain the room was small. Quiet - not early in the morning , but this was due to renovations being performed on the accommodation and may explain why the hotel had a special offer on the rates anyway. Hence, again I can't complain. In general the hotel was in an excellent location, the standard of the room was very high and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

The people were wonderful and location convenient to everything. The only downside was street and pub noise and the windows weren't sufficient to shut it out. The air conditioning was behind the drapes so you couldn't have privacy and air conditioning both. But we would stay there again - good value and the staff were great.

The receptionist thoughtfully gave us a direct dieal number to our room. However when it was tried by our friends it did not work. We didn't have time to check with receptionist where the problem lay.
We were delighted to find a 6ft bed as description said double bed and that can sometimes mean 5ft.
...
The room is advertised with a kitchenette. That is what we had re fridge, microwave, sink. However there was only odds and ends re china ( one bowl 2 plates) cutlery 2 spoons one knife.) Glasses and cups were also a bit problematic. A nice touch would be for some unifromity in what is supplied plus some salt and pepper and some tea and coffee bags and even maybe a salad dressing. It was not a problem for us as we did not in fact need to use the kitchenette facilities, however it would be nice to know it was there if needed.
...
You have to experience the lift. Very novel. Room was very clean and tidy and everything worked well. It is in a wonderfully vibrant part of Paris and the shops and restaurants around the area are great. Excellent position coming from airport as RER goes to Place Saint Michael and it is an easy walk from there.
