Was not aware that directions were published online. We took a LesCars bus into Av. Carnot then waited a half hour for a taxi that tried to leave us at Hotel du Louvre. After some argument and the help of the Hotel du Louvre doorman he took us to Hotel de la Place du Louvre.

Liked the gargoyles on l'Eglise d'Auxerrois next door and the view of the South end of the Louvre museum.

Great location central to everything; two Metro stations within easy walking range (Pont Neuf and Louvre Rivoli). Room clean if a little small. Was supposed to be air conditioned but was ineffective if it was working at all. Staff were friendly enough.

We had an excellent check out experience...including assistance with taxi to the train station....we were graciously extended an hour late check out....which we actually did not need to use all of...the staff was very flexible and changed the already ordered taxi and it arrived earlier to meet our need...the young man at check out...is fantastic..I am sorry not to remember his name...but I know that he is studying hospitality at University in France...and he is someone any company will be blessed to have on their staff...just the best.

A young man at the desk by the name of Jean-Michel was absolutely wonderful. He was extremely helpful before we arrived and during our stay we could not have asked for anyone more polite and friendly. He made our stay at the hotel a charming experience. Thank you Jean-Michel!

We arrived early in the morning; they held our luggage for us, and when we arrived back at the hotel late in the afternoon, our luggage was in our rooms! Wonderfully accommodating!

Marvelous housekeeping staff!!!! Can't say enough good things about them. And the front desk staff was always willing to help with directions, restaurant suggestions, metro links, etc. It was especially helpful that they all spoke such excellent English.

The carpet in our room needed updating as it was stained and threadbare and detracted from the rest of the room.
The hotel is very close to the louvre and the centre of Paris and is good value, but I would say it is at the bottom end of 3 star accommodation.

We were told that there was a plumbing problem in the room we had booked and we were then given a smaller room than we wanted. Otherwise our stay there was very good.

We expected a superior room at the back of the hotel, away from the street, but instead had a room facing the street and the church. However, we really enjoyed our room and have no complaints.

Actually, the hotel was DIFFERENT but not worse. We enjoyed our time at the hotel, but found it a bit farther from the Seine than 'a stone's throw' (not a problem) and the room was not as spacious as we had anticipated. Still, we would return to this hotel the next time we come to Paris. We loved the location, and the staff were quite friendly and helpful.

The only problem was that we were unable to obtain a shuttle to the airport, even though we inquired about it five days before our departure. So we took a taxi instead, which worked out fine.

I think it would help to list some nearby restaurants that you recommend. We had some very positive experiences at Le Fumoir, but found nearby brasseries to have mediocre or sometimes disappointing food.

A small, comfortable hotel with friendly staff, a modest but clean room and bath, and a perfect central location for walking or taking the Metro.
