The hotel personel were very helpful. ... All of the personel were very helpful. The room and bath was always clean. The hotel needs remodeling, the carpets were old and worn and the wallpaper, paint, draperies and bedspreads need renewing. ... They should advertise its central location convienient to metro and Museums, Notre Dame, etc. ... Friendly, helpful and resonably priced with clean but dated accomadations.

The staff at Hotel Violet were all very nice and helpful booking tours and obtaining information I requested.
The hotel was very clean and pleasant and was in a 'great' location. We were centrally located to everything. There was lots of shopping close by and a bank and restaurants around the corner. I couldn't have asked for a better location.
I think an area for improvement is the buffet breakfast. I think the buffet needs more variety in the types of food offered. In addition to ham, it would have been good to offer bacon or sausages on alternate days. Also it would have been nice to have the option to order omelets or eggs. Hard or soft boiled eggs were offered, but that gets a little boring.
One thing that was a little annoying was the amount of noise created by the Jazz Club down the street. We slept with our windows open because the rooms were stuffy. So with the windows open, there was lots of noise created by the people who attended the Jazz Club. ... The lighting in the hallways needs to be improved. When I would leave my room, the hallways were always dark. It was hard to see where I was walking.
Also, a microwave oven in each room would be great. I was trying to economize with the amount of money I spent on eating. It would be much more convenient to have a microwave available in each room.
The rugs in the rooms need to be cleaned and or replaced. They felt dirty when I walked around without shoes.
The TV stations were very limited. I could only get 2 stations (BBC and CNN - only news) that were in English. I don't speak French, so if I wanted watch TV, I could only see the news (that was extremely boring). ... List that there are lots of restaurants, shopping, night clubs and a bakery close by. Centrally located with transportation within 1 block of the hotel. Location is also safe and there is someone available at the desk 24 hours a day. ... Hotel Violet is a great hotel, centrally located to shopping, restaurants, main tourist attractions and transportation. It is clean and the staff are extremely polite and friendly. I would stay there during my next visit to Paris.

Nice young staff with good English skills ... Our room was very small but adequate. The room was missing light bulbs and our orginal reaction was one of frustration however, the staff immediately helped us out by coming into the room . They were very very helpful ... Small, centrally hotel located with young, knowledgable staff. We would stay there again.

The room was nice. The night clerk was very unfriendly and not helpful. ... The day clerks were very nice. The claim of a 4 minute walk to Notre Dame was an exageration - more like 10-15 minutes. The breakfast offered was extremely overpriced. The location of the hotel was good. ... Hotel was OK but nothing special.

I can't praise the two daytime reception personnel enough! The young man, whose name I did not get, was incredibly helpful, very charming and should be cloned.
We got exactly the kind of room I had requested--which turned out to be one large room w/double bed & a small room with a single bed. For two non-related people travelling together, this was ideal. ... The wide selection of available television channels appealed to both an 18 yr old and an over-50 year old--a big plus.
All personnel were very helpful. Room was kept clean.
All plumbing, etc. functionned perfectly.
I've stayed here twice before (location is fabulous!)--but this was by far the best stay of the three. ... I was very happy I'd brought my voucher, since I was initially charged a higher rate. However, once I showed them the voucher, the rate was immediately changed on the bill.
I was very happy w/my ParisBy.com experience and will certainly use it next time I travel. Also I will recommend you to others. Your web site is excellent. I just like to review it to remind myself how wonderful Paris is. ... I would emphasize the wonderful location. It is within a 15 minute walk or short bus ride of most of the main attractions of Paris. ... A great find! Excellent location; friendly & helpful staff; truly French feeling. Not luxurious but excellent value for money.

Very easy to use, very user friendly. Already passed on the web page details to a few friends.
Regards Mrs Pavey ... HAD ALL INFO WE NEEDED ALREADY ... SERVICE WAS SLOW DURING BREAKFAST, FOOD WAS NOT REPLENISHED, OFTEN LACK OF COLD MEATS ON DISPLAY. ... VERY HELPFUL, EVEN ALLOWED US TO LEAVE OUR BAGS IN THE HOTEL ALL DAY UNTIL OUR EVENING FLIGHT. ... NONE- ALL ADVISED VIA WEB SITE. ... DEFINETELY, VERY INFORMATIVE. ... VERY CENTRAL, IDEAL FOR LOCAL AMMENITIES, VERY FRIENDLY - BUT COULD DO WITH CHAIRS IN THE ROOMS TO SIT ON, ONLY ABLE TO SIT ON THE BED.

We were made most welcome, we were late arrivals but still made welcome. ... Our stay at the Violet was enjoyable. The staff were extremly helpful, at all times. The room was ideal and breakfast gave us a great start to the day ... This is a great base for a first visit to Paris as everything (well almost) is within walking distance. ... Central, friendly and French. Not your normal IBIS or Novatel.

This is a wonderful hotel beyond my expectation, especically the location. The location is very convenient to access to the business streets but is in a very quiet street. If you stay there, do not forget to visit the bakery next to the Hotel.

Clean, comfortable and in a good location although quite small rooms. Breakfast is sparse, not much choice, not worth having if it is to be paid for as an extra.

Although the brochure said that all the rooms had been renovated recently it was clear that ours had not been. In particular the wall opposite the bed was very grubby in places. Also, the bed was very hard and there were not enough pillows. The hardness of the bed is perhaps a subjective matter but the lack of pillows is not. Otherwise it was a most enjoyable stay. ... Nice hotel, extremely well located in the centre of Paris.

I arrived very early in the morning and the hotel stored my luggage so that I could go exploring while the room was being prepared. ... Having a quiet and cool place to come back to after a long day at a conference was wonderful! ... Very professionally done. ... Very clean and quiet accommodations. Extremely convenient to Metro and the Seine and well situated for both business travelers and tourists. You can venture easily anywhere you want in Paris and beyond. ... A lovely Parisian hotel that gives you a feel for the city yet the comforts of home. And for a reasonable price. I would recommend this to all my friends.

Only issue was we were left waiting for a lift which was out of order. We discovered this ourselves eventually. ... The hotel was satisfactory. The room was very small & I asked for twin beds but got a double room. ... N/A ... Rooms are small & dark. ... As we only spent one night there, it was satisfactory for our needs. If I wanted to stay longer I would choose a different hotel.

1) The mini fridge did not work. 2) One cabinet door was broken off.
I should have asked for a non-smoking room, I had to leave the windows open 24 hours a day to get rid of the smoke, but this is probably my fault for not asking for a non-smoking room in advance. ... no laundry service ... A perfect place for business travellers or tourists. On the corner is a metro (subway) station which serves 5 different metro lines, 7 different bus lines and the trains from both airports.

The room was very cold and the staff couldn't turn on the heating. There was an air condition bowing out cold air. The reactions of the staff were really rediculous. We wasted so much time to convist them that we were cold without any outcome. Only the last 2 days of our stays the heating was sufficient but those days the weather was much improved anyway. The room was just been refurbisted but was very inconvenient. It supposed to be the suite of the Hotel but it was narrow, with very limited wardrobe space and no place for the suitcases. The third bed was a sofa attached to the door of the toilet and when it was open was obstructing the door of the room. Totally uncovinient and uncomfortable. ... We paid exactly as stated but after lots of arguments. ... Very, very good location but rubbish service. Recent redecoration very unsuccesful.

after some initial confusion about twin beds and double beds. ... my room was fine, my daughters room looked rather shabby, but linen bathrooms very clean and rooms tidy. Thought that breakfast was included in the price and would have gone out to eat if I'd have realised I was paying extra, the food had run low, no yogurts, ham left and not replenished. I've stayed there before and my first experience was better. will stay there again as its so convenient but will have my breakfast out in future. ... I paid more than expected due to cost of breakfast, but the staff were always polite and helpful. ... clean and convenient, but don't stay in for breakfast.

We expected three separate beds for the triple, the two beds were esentially one. ... The renovation created a lot of dust and left us without breakfast and internet. Had the renovations not been going on it would have been better. ... Quaint place but a little of of the way. Once you get your bearings you can get around fairly easily.

We could hear everything above a whisper from the other rooms. ... The rooms are much smaller than expected. The furniture in the rooms were over used and not so nice. ... I'm not sure I'd recomend it. However the morning manager was terrific. We speak very little French and he spoke terrific English which was a great help. He also made a few trips we took easier with his knowledge of the trains and subways. THe staff as a whole were very welcoming and curtious.
