It's a decent hotel, although there's no escaping the fact that the rooms are small. The premises are clean and the room was serviced daily. There were always clean towels and the location can't be faulted in that it is right in the heart of the city centre. I got what I paid for and would be happy to stay there again.

The person who welcomed us (Bridgette) was very cordial and extended all possible helps. She aranged to clean and keep our room ready before the check in time, which we appreciate. Most importantly, she speaks good english and guided us to optimise our available time to explore the attractions. ... Excellent location, clean and tidy ... They helped to book a cab for our early morning check out. That was helpful because at that time there was a transport strike which disrupted the service. ... Please mention distance from the major attractions (by walking as well as by train or bus) ... Excellent location, good value for money

A slight delay while the room was still being cleaned, however we had arrived early afternoon. ... Staff were very helpful and assisted in booking Paris Night tour tickets. ... Check out was arranged the night before so that we could depart early. Staff booked taxis the day before, and taxis arrived on time. ... No ... A very well located establishment, convenient to subway and hop-on hop-off bus routes, with courteous and helpful service

I had stated when I booked that I wanted twin beds but they had given us a double but they did manage to change this fairly quickly. The hotle said they had no record of this request but I had the confirmation with me. ... I paid by credit card when I arrived but for some reason they had no record of this and asked me to pay again but again I had the credit card receipt. The receptionist was apologetic about the mix up. ... Great location and had good transport links nearby and many good restaurants.

Rooms were tiny, but clean and tidy. ... Location is absolutely ideal, you certainly pay the premium for that as the room is small. Breakfast is really not worth the cost, eating out is recommended. ... I would certainly recommend it for the ease of getting to the various sites, for the shopping, clean and tidy rooms.

The elevator was broken, so we had to make several trips to carry our luggage up the 5 flights of stairs. I thought my husband might have a heart attack. But it was fixed by the next evening. ... The staff were wonderful to us and really made all the difference to our stay. We enjoyed the location very much, and our room was clean and quiet, though somewhat disappointing...small (as was expected)but functional, not terribly comfortable for sitting, and the plastic cover on the mattress made us sweat. ... Instructions for getting to the hotel from the airport when you take the train and have a lot of luggage. A block away there is an elevator to the metro, but I can't remember what the entrance was called. Also, the hotel doesn't serve decaf coffee with the petit dejeuner.(Cafe decaffeine filtre would be really nice). ... We chose this hotel because of the kitcheonette (so we could have tea when we wanted and cold martinis before going out to dinner) and also because of the location.... terrific, we walked to great restaurants every night, museums by day. The staff was warm and helpful, but the room felt a bit barebones (better furniture, lamps? Cotton mattress covers rather than plastic?)I was disappointed at first, but it grew on me. It felt clean and safe to be here.

The room was slightly more cramped than I had originally expected, but, otherwise, entirely adequate. The location of the hotel is what makes it a good choice. ... The rooms are small, but they have a clean bath, with shower facilities. The hotel is very conveniently located near the hot spots in Paris (the Louvre, Ile de la Cité, the Sorbonne, etc.).

The room was very warm but when we opened the window we got a lot of noise from the street. The location is very good for tourists, close to the metro and Ile de la Cite.

This is the fourth time I stay at this hotel. I really love the Hotel des Halles; I wouldn't change it for any other. The people in the hotel are very nice. Your service (ParisBy) was quite good. Thank you. ... The staff people are very nice and give you a personal attention. For example, I didn't need to give the name of the room whenever I came in; they knew in advance and would give me my key. ... The hotel is very clean and has a beautiful view from the windows. The staff is friendly and nice. It has an excellent location; it is close to everything: RER and Metro stations, lots of places where you can have dinner, many shopping stores nearby, walking distance to the Isle, the Louvre, and many other interesting places.

Nothing wrong with the hotel with the exception of a noisy neighbourhood. The room was overheated and it was impossible to sleep with the window opened.
Also, I did not experience the dining room which I considered unattractive (It is located in the basement). There is a bakery right next door and plenty of café around the hotel so it really did not matter.
... Considering the vicinity of museums, restaurants and stores, as well as the affordable cost of the room and the general quality of the service, I would certainly recommend the Hotel des Halles to my friends as one of my favorite place to stay in Paris.

excellent location for tourists; very quiet diespite of its central location ... A little hotel in the very centre of Paris - very small walking distance to major attractions. Good size rooms, clean, friendly staff, nice restaurants around. Definitely worth recommending, will come back.

We had a wonderful time in paris, and the view from our room was absolutely beautiful, looking right through towards notre dame. location was fantastic - we were at the seine in a few minutes walk - and the various quarters were within easy walking distance. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The only downside was it was quite noisy at night due to the traffic outside - but with a location like that you couldn't expect anything else! We loved it. ... views from the bedroom window were wonderful. ... perfect location for strolling around paris. clean and comfortable - especially liked being able to make tea etc in the mornings in your own room.

We arrived late at night and in the rain. We had two angry cab drivers because all we had were swiss francs to pay them The gentleman at the desk advanced us some euros to pay the cab and to get a bite to eat! What a kind act. I don't think we would get that kindness in another hotel!!!! ... Ideally located and just the amount of space we needed. ... Very nice area for families. ... The staff are the greatest. We really felt like we were friends with everyone there. It was so nice to have the personal touch!

When we arrived the lady was very helpful with a map and pointing out all the main things we needed to know - supermarket, metro (and how to use it), tourist sites etc. She was also great on other nights with dinner recommendations. ... We were very happy with the accommodation. The metro stop is probably 50 metres (not 10 metres as mentioned) but it was a fantastic location. It might also be good to mention that it is a 5 minute walk to a supermarket – great as there is a kitchenette with a fridge. We walked to many places and caught the metro to others, and when we returned we were always met by helpful staff who spoke (mostly) good English and were helpful with directions and any other queries we had. On our final afternoon the reception lady even called Air France for us to find out our Gate number which was a lifesaver as we don't speak French!!! Thanks ... They had our invoice all ready and prepared when we asked for it assisted us with getting back to the airport via RER/metro and as mentioned getting off at the right stop for the gate we needed to fly home! ... Only that when we came from the airport we could not find the exact exit we needed. We were underground and there were people everywhere. I think this is because we were in the RER section and not the metro. When we caught the metro the exact exit was always on the signs.
... Safe and secure (the door was often locked) and the staff would ask your room name and surname if they had not seen you before. Small rooms but neat and tidy and all you need as you will be busy sightseeing for many hours of the day. the kitchenette is a great addition and the location fantastic.
You can publish my first name and location – Roslyn, Australia

Hotel des Halles is a small hotel in a good location in Paris, good value for money (for Paris) and ideally located close to the RER which goes to the airport. Not a fancy hotel but adequately equipped, clean and with the benefit of a kitchenette.

Even with a GPS the hotel was a little difficuly to find because of the intersection close by. Parking is a bigger issue but there is a gallery garage nearby for 24euro per day. ... All 3 staff members I dealt with were very friendly and helpfull. The room was bigger than expected and quiet, even though the room was one level up from the street. ... This hotel was a great value for the money. The free wi-fi in the room is a great bonus! ... They sell tickets to the Louvre that let you bypass the main line. The cost is about 1 euro more. ... It's a great location to walk around the main sights in Paris, it's only a 10 minute walk to both the Notre Dam and the Louvre. There are several restaurants and bars around the corner as well.

We were offered to leave our luggage in the breakfast room downstairs as our rooms were not ready until 3pm, as stated. ... We had read some reviews so rooms were as we expected. Small but adequate room, cupboard with kettle, electric ring and small fridge. The location of this hotel was great, close to centre of Paris, easy to walk to many sites. Would book to stay there again. ... Offered to leave bags in breakfast room till we were ready to leave the city. Given good directions in English to correct Metro/train station to get to airport. ... Certainly not an upmarket hotel. Quiet rooms and everything works, and very good for the price considering the ideal location.

The receptionist who worked mornings was extremely helpful and friendly. I wish we knew her name. We don't speak any French and she was one of few people who made us feel welcome. Thank you! ... We would recommend a stay to our friends based on the staff more than the rooms. The rooms were clean, just small and old.

Good ... Rooms smaller than expected. Breakfast was disappointing and not on time. Directions to Hotel were confusing both from the Metro and by car. It would be extremely helpful to mention that the streets are one way around there and therefore hotel is difficult to access unless you have one way map. Also the private parking 'nearby' was actually a car park that took about half an hour to reach and return with the car. With the Metro it would be helpful to mention which exit out of the metro station Chatelet Les Halles is nearest. They are numbered so this would be easy to do.There are 4 or 5 exits and we ended coming out of the one furthest away from the hotel. Also the nearest Metro access is only for people coming up out of the Metro. You cannot enter the nearest one from the street. It was about 50 meters away and not 10 meters as stated in the particulars. ... Receptionist was able to arrange a shuttle bus to the airport at the time I requested. ... Noisy street in front of hotel, but rooms insulated from each other well. Accurate map directions please for both metro and car! ... Right in the heart of Paris. Small but adequate bedroom. Bonus mini kitchen for preparing own foods. Not enough hangers to hang clothes - 4 for 2 of us. Safe lock in cupboard was also broken so we couldn't secure our valuables. Receptionist was happy for us to stay in room until 2pm even though we were supposed to book out at 12. Friendly and accommodating staff.
