The Hotel Delavigne was a very pleasant experience and I would highly recommend the hotel to my friends. We just got home from a visit to three countries and had the best time in Paris. Besides being in the perfect location of Paris, the staff of the Hotel Delavigne made the experience wonderful for our seven night stay. All of the desk clerks we met with were friendly, fair, spoke perfect English, and were responsive to our needs. We came into Paris a night early and with one phone call from the train station, we were booked for an extra night and given clear directions on how to get there. The hotel website has some nice pictures to get an idea of what to expect (http://www.delavigne-paris-hotel.com/index.html) This is a great hotel at a reasonable price and booking it online was easy. Thank you for providing this website!
... During our stay, we were especially impressed when one of the front desk clerks, Herve (we didn't get his last name), spent a half an hour helping us deal with the American Express phone calls we were having trouble with.
I was surprised at how close the Hotel Delavigne is to some of the major sites. There was definitely some walking, but I didn't realize how close the Notre Dame, Jardin du Luxembourg (a nice place to have a drink and relax), and the Blv St.Germain were. Also, the energetic café and night scene of Latin Quarter was in walking distance, but not too close to be a disturbance. The Odeon metro stop is convenient and from there you can go all over Paris very easily.
There are cafes to stop for pastries and coffee around the corner near the Odeon metro stop. For a faster breakfast there is an option for breakfast in the room or to stop at one of the crepe stands on the way to the metro. ... The night before we checked out, we asked for a total and the front desk clerk printed out a copy of our bill for us. We had to check out at 5:30am to catch our flight and the clerk appeared out of thin air to take care of us promptly. We were asked if we needed a taxi service to be called, but we were taking the metro and a train directly to the airport. The clerk gave us a map and marked the Luxembourg metro stop we were to take and told us how to get there from our hotel. It's the little things that make a trip special, and not having to fumble to get to the airport made for a relaxing morning. ... Everyone will have a different experience and as long as the basics are there it is sufficient. The directions from the Odeon station could be a bit more detailed though. It's very close, but when you are bogged down with luggage and tired it is good to have steps marked out ahead of time. ... I would tell a friend that if they are interested in taking a trip to Paris to stay at the Hotel Delavigne. The location and the staff were excellent.

I didn't have the directions to the hotel with me, and at first I was confused because some maps don't really have the Rue Cassirir Delavigne on it! I was almost going to continue my stay at another hotel, but the person who answered the phone was so polite, gracious and welcoming that I decided I really needed to experience this hotel on a tiny street. ... The hotel really was charming--with art in the hallways and in the rooms. The room itself was perfect for me--small, but with everything I needed, including a nice hot shower.
I was in Paris to visit my son who was spending his junior year of college abroad. We hadn't made any restaurant plans for New Year's Eve--just because when you're 20 and when you're the mom of someone who's 20 you tend to be spontaneous. So the young man at the hotel desk really went out of his way trying to find something for us at the last minute. ... Maybe just let people know that it is on a small street--and tht they should print out a copy of the map! ... Hotel Delavigne is in the heart of the Latin Quarter but not on one of the busy, noisy streets that are great for shopping and cafes but not as good when it comes time for sleeping. I loved the art in my room and in the hallways. I loved the room itself--very small and not as shiny as a 'boutique' hotel, but better--and a great place to write and read.

Reliable, prompt...wysiwyg ... After a 20+ hours travelling from Australia with a child it was wonderful that we were allowed to check into our room straight away. Even though it was only 9 am. ... All the staff were not only very polite but went out of their way to be extremely helpful. This made our stay even more comfortable. ... Can't think of anything. ... Because I received exactly what I expected to receive. The website was clear and usable. The response was prompt. I was very pleased to find the hotel was exactly as portrayed by the site and suited by purposed perfectly. ... Absolutely.

I have stayed at Hotel Delavigne on numerous occasions. This stay was what we expected. ... Really did not use the information on the website as I had stayed in Hotel Delavigne on many previous occasions. ... I always advise that Hotel Delavigne is a very conveniently situated hotel with numerous places of interest just walking distance away, plus good shopping and lots of cafes/restaurants.

All the staff during my stay were very helpful and polite. I left with a very good impression. ... I would recommend this hotel to friends, especially because of the service and excellent location. The place was very clean but my only complaint was that the beds could use an upgrade in mattresses. One thing I especially liked was that there were reading lights on both sides of the beds with excellent light for reading. ... The staff were amiable about keeping my luggage stored after 12 noon checkout as I didn't have to leave Paris until late afternoon. I have nothing but praise for this hotel's cheerful and helpful staff. ... I found the convenient location a very positive attribute as well as the large choice of varied eating establishments close by. ... A charming hotel with helpful and cheerful staff in a lively quartier of Paris. Convenient to a large choice of varied restaurants and the bustling nightlife of the student quarter.

not necessary ... not necessary ... The hotel initially responded that they had a room available, then sent an e-mail saying that no room was available. This led me to make another reservation elsewhere, and send a note to them about the confusion. They then said there had been a mistake, and the room was indeed available, so I cancelled the other reservation. This was an unnecessary bother. ... Unusually pleasant and polite. FAX waiting for me was delivered immediately. Rates were as stated. Room was clean and ready. ... The room was adequate, and large by Paris standards from my previous experience. The furniture was charming and in a good state. The bed was adequate, and again good by Paris standards. The receptionists were helpful, polite, recommended a good, reasonable restaurant, responded to all questions. Definitely, the best Paris stay I've had. ... rapid, no problems ... Rapid, clear, conditions as stated. ... Small, charming, very good value, very well located, friendly and polite staff. I would definitely return.

Excellent location. Very fine, always helpful, polite staff. Room clean and relatively quiet, but small and not for lounging. A great Parisian left bank hotel value.

The lobby, entry way and breakfast room were very similar to those pictured on the website. The rooms appeared bigger on the website--although those shown may have been deluxe or more expensive rooms. The bathroom was plenty spacious. Generally, our stay was wonderful and the location could not have been better. ... A charming hotel in a fabulous area with very friendly staff and small but clean and adequate rooms.

Everything as expected. ... Broadband Internet connection is only available in the lobby area, not in the rooms as implied, unless by 'internet connection' you mean using the room phone for dialup! We had the smallest-sized room which even by Paris standards was small. There was only a little room around the bed so there was little room to store the suitcases. We had to juggle them around constantly. We have stayed in smaller rooms in the 6th but didn't have to pay nearly as much. The optional breakfast was not worth it unless you did not want to go out for a while. There were several cafes within a few block which had better selections at comparable or less price. So you are really paying for the convenience. The breakfast area is very small and it was difficult seating 4 people around some of the tables because of the curved walls. ... One of the problems in the 6th is that weekend nights are very noisy unless you are on an very, very, quite street and if the hotel is set back from the street. Even though the hotel was on a quite street there is a tunnel effect created by the narrow streets and noises from surrounding areas where very audible. The evenings were warm while we were there and with no A/C you had to leave the windows open which exacerbated the noise problems. I would not recommend a stay over a weekend. During the week the noise was not unreasonable.

the room was nice, but very noisy! id recommend ear plugs! ... I think this hotel is in a great location, and the quality is fine. I found it quite expensive, as it was a fairly small and quite noisy room, but i think Paris has very high prices and low quality hotels in general, so is probably relative to the area.

There were no directions given so I had to call when I got to the area as the rue that the hotel is on is so small that it was not on my map.
The bedroom was tiny and the bed was both tiny and had a very soft and thin mattress. ... Quality of the rooms: i.e. clean, spacious, quiet, and private - for this I put fairly good as though the room was tiny, it was exceptionally clean and well maintained during our stay. The website shows rooms which are larger than on your website but when I asked to change to a laarger room I was told that all the doubles were the same size.
Also, the rooms are most definitely not soundproof, we could hear everything from the room next door and there was a very loud chambermaid who found it appropriate to talk very loudly to her colleague from room to room while I was trying to sleep, at 8am on a Sunday morning.
... compact rooms
The furniture is not as 'fancy' as is made out on the brochure. ... clean, friendly, tiny room and bed, down a side street so not suitable for girl on her own. Could get better for same money.

We have stayed at Delavigne for many years with great pleasure. We like the hotel. However, the issue of smoking in the hotel is not so nice - some rooms smell very much (and we moved) and some get the smoke (via the bathrooms and shared exhaust) from other rooms.
Overall, the hotel is very nice and clean. However, it is getting a bit long-in-the- tooth and needs some refurbishing in the rooms (curtains, cleanliness...).
We like the hotel a lot. ... Breakfast could be expanded a bit - its a bit rigid. Can't get extra hot milk. No fruit in the rooms. ... very clean, great location, great value, good people. Simple and hnonest.

We had arrived early, but the staff had no problems accomodating us and putting us into a room right away. ... Our room was small but very clean and comfortable, with a nice closet and a small desk, as well as very spacious bathroom with a tub that had an excellent showerhead. ... It is a very charming place, with solid, comfortable rooms and great bathrooms. The location is superb--on a quiet street just two blocks away in either direction from a metro stop and the main streets. The staff are extremely polite, give useful information, and speak good English; they have no problems about letting you in late at night. I would recommend this hotel.
