The hotel is located south of Montmartre and Pigalle. Food shops, restaurants for every taste and typical French bistros offering a warm atmosphere are waiting for you on this street that climbs towards the Butte Montmartre. There are many very good restaurants in the smalls streets under Pigalle proposing an inventive "cuisine" in a really creative atmosphere.

"Rue des Martyrs is closed to the cars on sunday, making its specialty food and flower shops, boutiques and restaurants easy to navigate"..."What is just as appealing as the contrast in this neighborhood is the intimacy".
(Elaine Sciolino, The New York Times, Sunday, Feb 27, 2005).

Shopping:
This is the area for a "shopping journey" Arts Gallery, Vintage clothing stores in the smalls streets around the hotel. Galeries Lafayette, Le Printemps, rue de la Chaussée d'Antin are only 10 minutes away.

Arts and culture activities:
Collectors of antiques and objets d'art will find that rare something they've always been dreaming of at the famous Hôtel des ventes Drouot located in the antique district of the neighbourhood. Art lovers will be able to visit "Le musée de la vie romantique, (The Museum of Romantic Life) which has kept all the charm of a private mansion in the neighbourhood known as Nouvelle Athènes. It was once the property of painter Ary Scheffer and his nephew, the writer Ernest Renan. The museum has collections of souvenirs and objets d'art entrusted to the City of Paris on display honouring two great XIXth century personalities: the writer George Sand (1804-1876) and Ary Scheffer (1795-1858). The museum's main pavilion depicts the daily life of George Sand. On the other side of the courtyard we find Ary Scheffer's workshop, where he worked from 1830 until 1858 and received the likes of Chopin, Liszt, Lamartine, Tourgueniev, Delacroix...
This museum provides a delightful look into the life and times of the romantics. There are expositions displaying the artistic and literary life of the mid XIXth century." (Text taken from the official site of the City of Paris, owner of the museum).

Nightlife:
The nightlife of the Moulin Rouge and the folly of Pigalle are nearby. The many theatres of the 9th Ward offer the very latest of what Paris has to offer.
