We arrived about 9:00 a.m. after a long train trip from Berlin, and the staff were able to give us a room soon after, which was much appreciated.
...
We had an excellent stay at this hotel. We have visited Paris many times and tried different accommodations. We would definitely stay at Arts et Metiers again and recommend it to our friends. Room was clean and quiet, though not so spacious (but well-equipped and comfortable.)

Pls. send our compliments to the desk clerk (I don't know his name) on duty when we checked out on Oct. 22. He suggested, after hearing that we were then going to Fontainebleau, that we make a visit to nearby Barbizon. We would not have known about Barbizon without his suggestion. We spent a wonderful day there, visiting the artists' studios, walking in the forest and eating in an excellent small restaurant (L'Hermitage).

The room we were assigned, #36, was smaller than we expected, and somewhat of a problem for us because of the amount of luggage we had to bring along for the transitional spring season .
