The hotel was a lovely place to stay, but that first staircase is terrible for luggage. ... The hotel should refurbish its entryway. Add an elevator, and lighten it up a bit. The first look is off-putting, but our room was very nice.
Their breakfast was overly priced for what was served. ... Quaint and definitely different. Its proximity to the Metro is a big plus, as well as so many cafes within a short walking distance. The neighborhood is a litte seedy, especially on Saturday night!

When I arrived the manager came downstairs to the entrance/foyer and carried my very heavy bag upstairs to the lobby. All the staff I dealt with were always polite and helpful. ... The only aspect of my room that I didn't like was the very, very tiny shower. It was very difficult to get in and out. Otherwise the room was very clean and pleasant. ... The staff was very polite and always helpful. I waited for the my shuttle to CDG in the lobby at 6am and the staff member on duty helped me carry my bags down the stairs to the entry and gave them to the shuttle driver for me. ... The elevator is very tiny, but the showers are even smaller and claustrophobic. Great selection of bistros, salon de the's, internet cafes and shops all over the immediate neighborhood. Additionally, the Forum des Halles underground shopping mall is just steps from the hotel. The Louvre, Orsay and Notre Dame within walking distance. ... A clean, tidy and charming Parisian hotel in the middle of a bustling neighborhood and within walking and/or inexpensive cab ride to some of most popular tourist attractions in Paris. ... The manager was not only there to greet me, but also walked down the stairs to the entry foyer and carried my rather heavy bag up to the lobby for me. ... My room was small, but very clean and quiet. The shower was very small and claustrophobic. But the room was pleasant and very Parisian. ... The staff was always very polite and helpful and with my limited French and their limited English we were able to work together successfully. ... None ... A lovely little hotel in a very interesting, lively area with lots of bistros, cyper cafes, some fun shopping in the old Les Halles market and within walking distance of Notre Dame and a slightly longer walk to Le Louvre.

Excellent location - so near the Chatelet les Halles, making it extremely convenient for everything! ... Surprisingly quiet considering the location. I would definitely stay here again if possible. The free wi-fi was a pleasant bonus. ... Staff were happy to hold our luggage after check out until we were ready to leave Paris. ... Rack rate was exactly the same as what was stated on our voucher through Parisby.com ... Fantastic location with spacious bathroom and comfy queen-size bed. Don't bother with the petite dejeuner at the hoetl, you are so close to great cafes.

Problem with shower was fixed on the first day after reporting it which was a Sunday. ... Very well placed for exploring Paris

When we arrived the room was not ready. However, they were kind enough to let us leave our luggage ntil it was ready. ... Being from the US, all hotel rooms in Paris are extremeliy small, unless you want to pay very high dollar. This room was no exception. With that being said; the balcony was a plus and the room was very clean.

Very kind and helpfull staff. ... Very neat hotel, parisian style, located in vibrant area, but surprisingly quiet though.

Receptionist was a little terse at first but became more friendly as our stay progressed. Our taxi driver had some difficulty finding the location. ... Our corner room on the 4th floor was above our expectations. ... Staff very helpful and arranged suitable transport to airport. ... The rooms overlook a pedestrian mall that is lively and interesting. The 'petit dejuner' was OK but please something other than Earl Grey tea! The lift is small but adequate, however it does not reach ground floor. ... Good accomodation in a very convenient location.

The two rooms were very small and we requested a change but had to pay extra ... Some of the double rooms are very small even for children ... Adequate. Very noisy at weekends on the streets outside hotel

The hotel was charming, central and easy access. I paid more than I would have liked to but in the end was satisfied that the combination of location and ambiance made it worthwhile. I would recommend it to anyone arriving from a long flight with only a few days to spare in Paris. ... Charming, lovely feel to the hotel. Well situated next to Les Halles for 'practical' shopping ( important if you have just arrivied in europe), but also within walking distances of the main central Paris areas.
Also really easy to get to using public transport from the airport.

I was chareged for having coffee bgefore the rest of my party arrived at breakfast. While it wasn't a larege amount, i felt this was a ripoff since the breakfast was 9 Euros. Also, at the time of booking a boat trip, the clerk claimed not to have change and said he would pay me the 1.5 Euro he owed me later. He never paid it. Also, at check out he charged me a few Euros for calling to make the boat reservation. Overall, I was well pleased with the hotel, but these actions seemed uncalled for and put a damper on the experience.

It would have been more helpful if we were advised to leave the metro RER station by the Pompadeu exit. The Agora Hotel is only 50 metres from this exit - not the exit we used which was 15 minutes 'confused' walk!! ... Small, very friendly and helpful.

Room was not available at 12:00 hrs but not a problem at all. Receptionist took care of our luggage while we went out for lunch. ... Typical 2 star hotel in Paris - functional, clean, small rooms and with no frills - just what we wanted. The location is very central, good for Metro but can get noisy at night if you want to sleep with the windows open. With them closed most of the 'street life' is knocked out. Continental breakfast was fine and overall the stay exactly what was advertised and what we were looking for. ... Typical 2 star hotel in Paris - functional, clean, small rooms and with no frills. Very central with easy access for the Metro.

Very good located, staff help when required. A smile would be welcome ... Property is clean, VERY small and a bit old in some parts (carpet, tents, wall paper)... ... no.... ... Nice, cosy, perfectly located, incredibly small, a bit noisy at night, but perfect deal for your money.

Very nice. We arrived hungry and got an excellent recommendation for where to go for a late lunch. ... We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Agora and have already suggested it to some of our friends. ... We had to do extra homework before arrival to find the hotel's street location reliably. Good directions would be helpful. ... Typical European-style hotel: Walk up to 1st floor, tiny lift from there up, small showers, clean, friendly, GREAT LOCATION.

I could see that circular stairs could be hazardous being that reception desk is on first floor especially with heavy or large luggage or for elderly people or people with reduced mobility. We knew of this before we stayed. I can not remember if this was stated on website or not. ... Room was small (I think was smallest I have stayed in ever) and the furniture was old fashioned but this did not bother us we were not 'moving in'. It was perfectly fine for the amount of time we spent in it i.e. we only slept there and were too busy discovering Paris and enjoying ourselves! The room and the en-suite was very clean and this only what mattered. We were afraid that arriving in January we might be staying in a cold room with little heating but we delighted with the warmth of our room. They provided us with a map on our arrival and on another evening gave us great helpful advise about using the metro which is a stone's throw away from the hotel. ... The lift was tiny but this did not bother us in the slightest. ... The location of the hotel was excellent. We loved it there. There was plenty of great places to eat, all on the hotel's doorstep. I think they could improve the experience of their hotel guests with little things for instance they never replaced the two little bars of soap that were provided for our four day stay (This was very annoying), they could include safety security boxes/safes and tea making facilities for a very nominal cost. Even all the humble bed & breakfasts here provide tea making facilites here. ... I would recommend they stay there.

The RER stop at Chatelet Les Halles is a major stop and has many exits. Also, Rue la Cossonerie is not exactly very clearly marked.
I would recommend that you indicate on your instructions (esp. helpful for non-native French speakers like me!) to exit the station onto Pierre Lescot via an escalator, where one will be faced with a police beat at the corner of la Cossonerie. Walk straight past the police beat and Hotel Agora is on the right, about 20 metres from the escalator. ... Wi-Fi was on a free-for-access basis making connection slow and cumbersome. ... Please see the comment about exit from Chatelet Les Halles RER station ... I picked Hotel Agora because of the convenience of finding it on WorldBy.com which helped reinforce a gut feel that this was the right place to pick... THE CHOICE WAS SPOT-ON!!

Awkward having to lift the bags to the first floor where Reception is. Got lift to the floor we were staying in but only one bag would fit in lift at a time.
... Room was clean but small. We didn't have much stuff - 2 bags but we were falling over them to get around the room.
Bathroom was clean but tiny! Shower was too small - could not bend down to pick up shampoo, etc cause you would hit your head. Claustrophobic is the word I would use to describe the shower!!
Walls were paper thin, could hear the conversation of couple in room next door!
Fantastic location though, in walking distance to Notre Dame,Louve, etc & bus tour. Metro just around the corner. ... I would explain how small the rooms are & the price difference of the rooms. ... Don't expect much from Paris hotels, they are all small but for the location of this hotel & the price it is value for money.

Bathroom was clean but tiny! Shower was too small - could not bend down to pick up shampoo, etc cause you would hit your head. Claustrophobic is the word I would use to describe the shower!!

It should be stated that it is very noisy - Les Halles being an area where people are almost 24 h a day. The rooms were smaller than the impression we got. The furniture was worn and the room was very small. For that price we expected something better! ... Very noisy rooms. Great balcony! ... Worn, noisy hotel with very small rooms that have hidious wall-paper. The only thing that was worth the money was its location and the small balcony.

I was originally trying to book at another hotel, but they had nothing available. The Hotel Agora was referred to me by Sebastian Kleiman at Worldby (most helpful) as time was running out to find accommodation. I did not look at the site to any great degree, but was happy to have secured a room. ... I refer to my previous comments. The room was small and fairly basic, but perhaps this is what the rate of 105 Euro per night gets you in Paris. The Hotel was really close to Notre Dame and a mjor shopping centre (Les Halles), so it was very convenient. ... I refer to my previous comments. ... The entrance way is not very obvious, so you have to keep a look out. ... Slightly 'funky' and very convenient. The walls are very thin, so keep that in mind if you have any intentions of having a 'passionate' evening or an argument with someone else (I heard the sounds of both).

the only reservation that I have is that the cleaning staff left the laundry bags in the communal areas and we had to weave our way around them as space was restricted. Also, you need to know the person who you share the lift with very well!

I flew into a different airport than planned so the location directions were unclear. The taxi driver was able to locate the street and assist in that way. ... The rooms were small and very neatly appointed. It is an older hotel so I was quite pleased with the decor and the arrangement. Everything was very clean and very well maintained. ... Loved the location! ... Family run hotel in the heart of Paris. Lots of charm. Would definitely recommend to a friend and I intend to return. ... The rooms were small and charming. There is a spiral staircase to the various floors that could use a little update or at least new floorboards but all in all it was great. There is a lift that is the size of a bathroom stall.

Everything is easy to use, gives lots of good information, and shows a client- and excellence-oriented team. Thank you! ... I didn't have time to do that, making my reservation two days before I arrived. ... The same reason. ... I think it should be stated more clearly that it is on a great place in the middle of everything. I was surprised to find that it was so close to everything. Another thing, the way description or how to find the hotel, is pretty unclear (I looked for it one hour, and I was in the same quarter!). I don't know how are the rest of the rooms, the room I was in was a bit worn out. That can be good to say, so the future clients do not have too high expectations. And it's good enough. ... I was not told in advance, at the time of making the reservation, that the building facade was under renovation. My room has a view to the street, but it was completely obstructed because of the construction work underway. The street where the hotel is located is very noisy.
The staff was supportive, making reservations for me at restaurants and for a concert. ... The staff took time to find a taxi for me over the phone. Good. ... The mini-elevator might not be big enough by an overweighted person (you know, some Americans are really fat). The street is very 'lively' at night (drunk youth yelling at each other at 4:00 a.m.). ...
